Die Fledermaus – New Jersey Opera

Most of the visual elegance derived from Patricia Hibbert's lovely costumes, in which Lisa Vroman's Rosalinde, Rachele Gilmore's Adele and Allison Pohl's Ida looked stunning.

Merry Widow – New Jersey Opera

Patricia A. Hibbert’s elegant, detailed costumes, all elevated the emotional power of this simple love story to a height that opera usually achieves only in tragedy. I heard gasps on Hanna’s Act III entrance, and should have. In this piece of musical theater, at least, the moment was real.

"Turandot," With a Touch of Royalty

The lack of scenery didn't matter, as Patricia Hibbert's opulent costumes — especially those for Turandot and the ministerial clowns Ping, Pang and Pong — gave the eye plenty to enjoy.

"Turandot"  -  Opera North

Production-wise, the entire artistic team deserves a huge, Well Done! ……… costume designer Patricia Hibbert, for giving us a richly outfitted show that matched the era and mood of each scene…….. all in a seamless rainbow that created the kind of mood that gave this production a polished and big stage glow without interruption.

'La Traviata'  - Opera New Jersey

The red and black costumes at the party added to the intensity. In contrast to the other party-goers, Violetta looked funereal in her all-black ball gown, despite its sequins and the drooping red rose in her hair. Patricia A. Hibbert was the costume designer.

“La Traviata”  - Opera New Jersey

As a result, with Barry Steele’s clever lighting and Patricia Hibbert’s consistent and stylistic costumes, this production looked as though it was taking place in a Faberge egg, with a rapt audience eavesdropping on every word.

"Merry Widow"  Opera New Jersey

Patricia Hibbert’s costumes for this performance were bathed in pastel colors, which set off well Mme. Glawari’s burgundy and gold formal dress. It was clear that a great deal of thought had gone into costuming this production, and although the stage seemed a bit crowded at times, the overall visual effect was appealing.

"Rigoletto"   Opera New Jersey

Ms. Hibbert has become one of the opera world’s busiest costumers on the East Coast. She maintains a huge collection of costumes in her home in Fryeburg, Maine. This year, in addition to the summer projects in Princeton, she will be costuming operas in New Hampshire and Connecticut.

"Hot 'n Cole - A Cole Porter Celebration" - Off Broadstreet

Costumes by Patricia A. Hibbert, ranging from the most unpretentious and casual to the most dazzling and formal, effectively assist in the creation of certain numbers and key moments in the production.

"Madame Butterfly" – Opera North

The dramatic effect was truly enhanced by the simple and elegant set by Yoshinori Tanokura, with dramatic lighting by David Gelhar and beautiful period costumes by Patricia Hibbert.    This was a beautifully heart-wrenching "Madame Butterfly."

"The Merry Widow" -  Opera New Jersey

Now add the work of conductor Stephen Mosteller, who has perfect control of the large orchestra; choreographer Mary Pat Robertson, who either located singers who can dance or taught them to; costume designer Patricia Hibbert, who amassed every shade of pastel in the palette for ballroom gowns and then every earth shade for bright native costumes for the mythical kingdom of Pontenegro; and lighting designer Barry Steele, who manages to blend indoor and outdoor with apparent ease.

"Cenerentola" – Opera New Jersey

Kier and Anderson almost steal the show with their outrageous mugging and endless primping. They exploit Patricia A. Hibbert's outlandish costumes as the stepsisters battle Cinderella for the prince.
